Do Midjourney credits roll over to the next month?
Short answer: no. Midjourney’s own documentation says that unused Fast time from your subscription will not carry over to the next month. If your plan renews on the 14th and you have barely generated anything since the 14th before, the remainder is simply gone. What expires, exactly
Midjourney meters generation in GPU time rather than in "images". A subscription includes a monthly allowance of Fast time, and Fast time is what gets consumed when you run a prompt at normal speed. The support documentation is explicit that this allowance is per billing period: unused Fast time from your subscription will not carry over to the next month. That is a per-billing-cycle reset, not a rolling window. It does not matter whether you generated nothing because you were on holiday, because the project was delayed, or because you simply had no images to make that month. On the renewal date, the counter goes back to the plan allowance and the unused portion is discarded.
Why this hits occasional users hardest
If you generate every day, a monthly allowance is a fine shape for a product: you use what you pay for, and the reset is invisible. The shape breaks down at the other end of the curve. A small business owner who needs four images for social posts in March, none in April, and eleven in May pays three months of subscription for fifteen images. The March and May months are under-used and the April month is entirely wasted. Because the allowance cannot be banked, there is no way to smooth that out — the only lever is cancelling and re-subscribing around your own workload, which is administratively annoying and easy to forget. There are three honest options. Subscribe and accept the waste. Reasonable if your average month genuinely uses most of the allowance, and the quiet months are rare.
